À Dublin, Edward, un romancier introverti au grand cœur, touche enfin du doigt le succès. Mais alors qu’une prestigieuse tournée promotionnelle se profile, il doit s’occuper, le temps d’un week-end, de quatre femmes âgées hautes en couleur – dont sa propre mère.
