Après la répression par la police d'une grève menée par des métallurgistes sous-payés et mal logés dans une banlieue de Prague, une foule en colère attaque la luxueuse demeure de l'industriel. Réalisé peu après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, le film fait écho au ressentiment des Tchèques envers l'occupation allemande.
