Vienne, 1957. Max travaille comme portier de nuit dans un gand hôtel. Un jour, arrive Lucia, en voyage avec son mari. Il suffit alors d’un simple regard pour que leur passé commun ressurgisse : ancien officier SS, Max a entretenu avec Lucia une relation amoureuse, tandis qu’elle était prisonnière dans un camp de concentration…
