Un énorme serpent est capturé sur une île et ramené aux USA dans un centre de recherche universitaire. Lorsque le serpent s'échappe, un millionnaire et un scientifique se lancent à sa poursuite. Très dangereux, l'animal ne tarde pas à faire des dégâts en tuant d'innocentes personnes sur son passage.
